Goal

A Gold Standard certification of an expansion project to offset carbon emissions through the use of energy efficient cookstoves and other products in the Diocese of Masaka.

Background

The MADDO stove for households currently sold will continue to be built and sold as it is very successful. The possibility of adding a third combustion chamber should be examined. In addition, the feasibility of introducing portable household stoves, institutional stoves for schools, parishes, restaurants, hotels, etc., as well as the introduction of briquettes is being examined. The project will therefore make an important contribution to SDGs 3, 7, 8, 13 and 17.

Activities

-Based on a market analysis, suitable institutional stoves are selected and tested in a participatory manner and the potential emission reductions are calculated
-A corresponding business plan is created
-The project was registered by Gold Standard in order to be able to generate certified emissions credits
