To promote the presence of youth in initiatives that favour the exercise of their rights in 11 communities in 3 municipalities of El Salvador.
Directly involved: 280 people (140 female /140 male), indirectly involved: 2.700 people (1.500 female / 1.200 male).
Youth participation is low and leadership is scarce, both for men and women of all ages. At the national level, only 3 out of every 100 people participate in community or advocacy activities at different levels, and young people are not visible in this percentage. Empirical evidence and consultations with interest groups provide young people's feelings and justification for their absence in local organisation. At local level there is a greater presence of women, due to the fact that young men have migrated to other areas or outside the country because of the insecure situation.
ADES has been making important contributions to the education of children, youth and the development of the community in terms of social infrastructure, as well as in terms of the environment, community participation and organisation. It has also invested efforts in the promotion of human rights, equality between men and women, diversity and the inclusion of all people.
